CubePong 01 – NewBorn (The Result)

We've successfully completed round one of CubePong and with like any new born, its cause for huge celebration.

Firstly, we gotta say, it was a great learning curve for both Dieter and myself in terms of what is achievable and the realities of the game. An unfortunate result is that because of the rendering process as well as the way in which some animators did their animations, it had implications on other animations and although we tried to ensure every animation was perfect, one or two did not come out perfectly.

None the less, CubePong is off to an amazing start and before we start the second round, we're gonna change the timings and rules slightly to better help all the animators and motion designers involved to enhance their experience together with the result for you out there. There will also be slight enhancements to the site to better facilitate your time here.

We ask you to kindly post your comments and feedback below and help us to make this even more of a success!

A big thank you again to all the contenders who helped build this amazing first animation together with all the people who helped make CubePong a reality. If your animation did not come out as expected, please contact us via our site or on twitter and we will do our best to help.

My comments are quite long so I've put them into Google Docs document (or Google Drive or whatever they call it now). You can read them here:

Cubepong #1 was a great succes. End result is amazing. Really love the sound design! Kudo's to whoever did that :-) .

C4D Weekly makes some good points. I think if those changes were to happen the end result might be even more fantastic. Right now their are some blank frames which is a shame.

Overal, SUPER AWESOME! Looking forward to CubePong #2!

Thanks Wouter, the backing track is Pretty Lights - Drift Away, we just chopped it up slightly which allowed up to end of on a high.

      Thanks for the comments!

In my round, i made face to the cube, but in the final version does not appear, even so the result is amazing.
